LOUIS MARK N. PLAZA, an MSU-IIT IDS IT Instructor,  attended the Third National ICTs in Basic Education Congress held at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City last September 10-11, 2008. The theme for this year’s congress is Curriculum, Pedagogy and the Challenge of the 21st Century Learning. The congress was organized by the Department of Education (DepEd), Foundation for Information Technology Education and Development, Inc. (FIT-ED) and the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU). Mr. Plaza presented his paper entitled “GuhIT 2008: A Project-based Approach to Teaching Digital Literacy”. GuhIT  2008 was a special project of the first year high school students (SY 2007-2008) at the MSU-IIT IDS. It is an offshoot of the Intel® Teach Skills for Success curriculum on digital literacy that has been adapted for their Information Technology 1 subject.
